Redshirt freshman defensive end Kenny Carter dismissed from football program

Syracuse redshirt freshman defensive end Kenny Carter has been dismissed from the program for a violation of team rules, SU Athletics confirmed. The news was first reported by Scout.com.

Carter redshirted in 2015 and is now the third defensive end, and fourth player total, to be dismissed from the program since head coach Dino Babers’ hiring. Rising sophomores Amir Ealey and Qaadir Sheppard were dismissed along with junior offensive lineman Alex Hayes.

SU’s defensive end corps now includes just one returning player, redshirt freshman Jake Pickard, who didn’t see game action last season. The rest of Syracuse’s DE group includes tight end-convert junior Trey Dunkelberger, linebacker-convert freshman Kenneth Ruff and incoming freshmen Jaquwan Neslon, Joshua Black and Kendall Coleman.
