Cardoso is the No. 1 post player and No. 5 overall recruit in her class, per espnW.

Another top recruit will join the Class of 2020 under Syracuse head coach Quentin Hillsman.

On Wednesday night, five-star forward Kamilla Cardoso announced her commitment to SU on Instagram. Cardoso, espnW’s No. 1 post player and No. 5 overall recruit for the Class of 2020, joins five-star guard Priscilla Williams (No. 11) and Faith Blackstone (No. 91) as the third top-100 recruit for next year.

“While (I) thoroughly enjoyed getting to know many different programs I’m happy to announce I’ve found my home at Syracuse University,” Cardoso wrote in an Instagram post.

The 6-foot-6 big from Hamilton Heights Christian (Tennessee) Academy has a espnW scout grade of 98 out of 100. One evaluation said she’s an “impact low-post prospect with superb mobility, shot blocking presence” and an emerging offensive arsenal.

Cardoso had offers from Connecticut, Ohio State, Mississippi State and South Carolina, but chose Hillsman and the Orange. She’s one of six 2020 recruits — including three-star guards Khamya McNeal, Laura Salmeron and Kiara Fisher — that will join SU next season.

Cardoso will add depth to Syracuse’s frontcourt that will return all three starters in Emily Engstler, Amaya Finklea-Guity and Digna Strautmane.

Cardoso could not be reached for comment.
