Melissa Piacentini wins CHA Player of the Year award

Melissa Piacentini finished the season with 30 points and 21 assists. She was named the CHA Player of the Year.

Melissa Piacentini has won the College Hockey America Player of the Year award, per Syracuse Athletics.

The senior finished the regular season with 30 points, good for fourth in the conference, as well as a league-leading and career-high 21 assists. She has set several school records, including a program-best 112 points, 53 points, and 59 assists.

In addition, senior Nicole Renault was named the CHA Defenseman of the Year while also being named to the CHA All-Conference First Team. Renault finished the season with 18 total points.

Sophomore Stephanie Grossi, who finished third in the conference with 33 points, was also named to the CHA All-Conference First Team. Sophomore Megan Quinn and junior Jessica Sibley were named to the CHA All-Conference second team.

Syracuse plays Penn State in semifinals of the CHA Tournament at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The tournament is being hosted at the HarborCenter in Buffalo, NY.
