Syracuse football recruiting: Class of 2016 linebacker Kenneth Ruff flips pledge to Syracuse

Three-star Class of 2016 inside linebacker Kenneth Ruff has flipped his verbal commitment from Virginia to Syracuse, according to multiple media reports. Scout.com first reported the news.

Ruff is the second player to commit since Dino Babers became SU’s head coach.

Ruff, who attends Dillard (Florida) High School, was recruited by former UVA assistant Chris Beatty. Beatty joined the Orange’s coaching staff yesterday and has already made a difference, per Scout.

Ruff is the first inside linebacker in SU’s 2016 class and puts it at 15 players overall. He’s listed at 6 feet 2 inches and 236 pounds. He also had offers from Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss and North Carolina, among others. Ruff is ranked with three stars and as the 37th inside linebacker in the class by 247Sports.com’s composite rankings.
