Speaker applications to be accepted for TEDxSU starting Monday

A TEDxSyracuseUniversity conference will take place in spring 2016. TEDx was created to share ideas that are considered groundbreaking or innovative on a local level.

Speaker applications for the third TEDxSyracuseUniversity conference will be accepted starting Monday.

The deadline for the conference’s speaker applications is Jan. 18, 2016 at 5 p.m. All are encouraged to apply to share their ideas with the Syracuse and TEDx communities, according to a press release from TEDxSyracuseUniversity.

Speaker applications can be found on the organization’s website, according to the release. This is the third year that TEDx will be at SU. Past TEDxSU speakers include University Professor Carl Schramm, former Post-Standard columnist Sean Kirst and SU student Ronald Taylor.

TEDx was created to share ideas that are considered groundbreaking or innovative on a local level. TED, a nonprofit organization based out of California, is known worldwide for having influential people, including Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, talk about various topics.

The TEDxSyracuseUniversity conference will take place in spring 2016, according to the release. No date has been set for the conference.
