Junior attack Kayla Treanor was named the ACC's Offensive Player of the Year for the second season in a row. She's second in the conference with 53 goals and 80 points.

Syracuse’s Kayla Treanor and Gary Gait have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year and Head Coach of the Year, respectively.

Treanor, a junior attack, was named the conference’s offensive player of the year in 2014, too. This year, Treanor ranks third in the ACC in goals with 53 and second in points with 80. She also led the conference with five game-winning goals — two of which came in the ACC tournament in double overtime.

Treanor was named the ACC tournament’s most valuable player, was named to the All-ACC first team for the second time on April 22 and is a Tewaaraton Award nominee.

Gait helped turn SU around after Syracuse lost four of five games in late March and early April. Beginning on April 16, the Orange rattled off five straight wins. Three of those wins came in the ACC tournament when Syracuse beat then-No. 4 Boston College, then-No. 3 Duke and then-No. 2 North Carolina in a four-day stretch.

Midway through the season, Gait changed the team’s offense, moving from a freelance offense to a more structured style, using more designed plays.

Syracuse (14-7, 3-4 ACC) has earned the No. 4 seed and a first-round bye in the NCAA tournament. The Orange will play the winner of Albany and Pennsylvania at SU Soccer Stadium at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
