Jerami Grant had questions about his jump shot and back heading into the draft, but the Philadelphia 76ers made him an NBA player in the second round.

NEW YORK — Jerami Grant will have the chance to play with Michael Carter-Williams once again.

Although he fell out of the first round, the former Syracuse forward was selected 39th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Draft on Thursday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the second SU product taken in the draft after the Phoenix Suns picked point guard Tyler Ennis 18th overall.

Grant’s father Harvey and his uncle Horace both enjoyed lengthy NBA careers, and Grant will now try and do the same.

Playing in 32 of SU’s 34 games — he was suspended for the season opener and missed a mid-season game with a back injury — Grant scored 12.1 points per game and averaged 6.8 rebounds per contest.

Scouting reports question his jump shot and ability to create off the dribble, and the D-League appears to be a likely destination for Grant, but his highlight-reel athleticism around the rim was too good for the 76ers to pass up.
