Greek life not limited to social fraternities and sororities

When I first came to Syracuse University, I only had one image of “greek life” in my mind, which was created from movies and television shows. I soon realized that there was another side to greek life that no one mentioned — the professional side.

This past fall, Alpha Kappa Psi (Business Fraternity), Delta Sigma Pi (Professional Fraternity), Phi Sigma Pi (National Honors Fraternity) and Alpha Phi Omega (Service Fraternity) came together to form the professional fraternity council to bring awareness to professional greek life and to make it more prominent on the Syracuse University campus. On Jan. 30, the professional fraternity council will be holding an event where students can learn more about their four organizations. It will take place at 7:00 p.m. in Gifford Auditorium.

Don’t miss your chance to “Think Outside the Frat” and learn about the amazing benefits that a professional brotherhood can give you on the journey through and beyond college. See you all there!

Professionally,
Samantha Rebelo, Whitman 2014, and the brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi, Delta Sigma Pi, Alpha Phi Omega, and Phi Sigma Pi.
