A Syracuse University student collided with a vehicle while riding his bicycle at the corner of Comstock Avenue and Stratford Street on Tuesday morning.

The student did not appear to be injured, but was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, said Department of Public Safety Capt. John Sardino. The current condition of the student is unknown.

The crash occurred at 10:49 a.m. Tuesday, Sardino said, and DPS and the Syracuse Police Department immediately responded to the scene. SPD took the lead in the investigation, but because the crash involved a student, DPS was also involved, Sardino said.

The accident is still under investigation, but it appears the cause was bicyclist error, said Syracuse Police Department Sgt. Joel Cordone. The student failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, Cordone said.
