Syracuse point guard Dyaisha Fair has been named to the 2023-24 Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List, the team announced Monday. The Lieberman Award is given to the nation’s top point guard at the end of the season. Fair was on the list last year, but Iowa’s Caitlin Clark ultimately won.

Fair transferred to SU from Buffalo, along with head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. In her senior season, Fair averaged 19.9 points, 4.2 assists and shot nearly 40% from the floor. Her points per game ranked 21st in all of Division I, while her 88 3-point field goals made was also the 21st-most in the country.

Against Atlantic Coast Conference competition, Fair averaged a conference-leading 20.6 points per game in 2022-23. Her 36.2% 3-point shooting percentage led the division. Fair was named to the First Team All-ACC and after averaging 2.4 steals, she earned All-ACC Defensive Team honors.

This past offseason, Fair weighed her professional options but opted to stay with the Orange for her graduate year. As of Jan. 30, 2023, when Fair was named a midseason finalist for the Lieberman Award, she was a projected top 10 WNBA draft pick, per lines.com. Fair led Syracuse to the Super 16 of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament in 2023, where it lost to Columbia. She is set to be the centerpiece of Legette-Jack’s squad for the second year in a row, helping Syracuse qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021.
