Through four games, Steve Ishmael leads the country in receptions and catches per game. He is also among the top players in total receiving yards.

Syracuse senior wide receiver Steve Ishmael was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Tuesday, the award’s committee announced.

Ishmael was added to the list by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, along with nine other receivers. The Biletnikoff Award is given annually to the nation’s top receiver. Ishmael joins teammate and fellow SU receiver Ervin Philips on the watch list.

SU’s top target, Ishmael leads the country in receptions (45) and receptions per game (11.3) while ranking third in total receiving yards (512). Ishmael has had 100 yards receiving in each of the Orange’s first four games. He is one game shy of tying Amba Etta-Tawo’s SU record five-straight 100 yard games.

More additions to the watch list will be released periodically throughout the season. Ten semifinalists will be named on Nov. 13 and three finalists listed on Nov. 21. The winner of the Biletnikoff Award will be announced on Dec. 7.
