The Daily Orange remains Syracuse University’s premier journalistic voice. But like all newspapers, it has spent the past few years experimenting with just how little it can survive on. Long gone are the days of traveling to journalism conferences, increasing page counts without consequence and expensing travel to all away games. The paper’s photography equipment is several generations behind and slows down production. While some computers were recently replaced, there are currently no computers for editing in the feature office. The paper’s archives, AP Stylebooks and computer software are also in need of updates. Still, dozens of aspiring writers, photographers and ad representatives call The Daily Orange home, and it would not be possible without your generous contributions.
