2 SUNY-ESF students robbed at knife, gunpoint

The students reported being robbed in Oakwood Cemetery at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday night.

Two SUNY-ESF students reported being robbed Friday night at gunpoint and knifepoint in Oakwood Cemetery, according to the college’s University Police Department.  

The students told police they were approached by about five black men while in Oakwood Cemetery around 8:30 p.m., UPD Chief Thomas LeRoy said in an email sent to the Syracuse University campus community. The suspects displayed what appeared to be knives and a gun, LeRoy said.  

Oakwood Cemetery is located just south of the SUNY-ESF campus. SU’s Department of Public Safety, UPD and the Syracuse Police Department responded to the call.
