Syracuse will host Arkansas State on Dec. 22 in the Carrier Dome, SU Athletics announced Thursday. It will be the first ever meeting between the Orange and the Red Wolves. SU’s full nonconference schedule has now been announced, per the release.

Arkansas State finished the 2017-18 season with an 11-21 record. That Red Wolves squad set a school record for 3-pointers made, with 236. ASU returns two of its top four scorers in senior guards Ty Cockfield (14.9 points per game last season) and Grantham Gillard (8.7).

The Red Wolves will be led by second-year head coach Mike Balado. He took over the job before last season after being an assistant coach for four seasons at Louisville.

The Orange’s nonconference schedule features one team ranked in the most recent USA Today Coaches’ Poll Top 25, which was released Thursday: Ohio State. The Buckeyes came in at No. 21 in that poll. OSU is also the only team on SU’s nonconference schedule to have finished last season in the AP Top 25, at No. 17. The Orange play at OSU on Nov. 28.

Syracuse will play all but one of its nonconference games in the Carrier Dome or at a neutral site. The lone exception to that is a road trip to Columbus to take on the Buckeyes. The Orange takes part in two 2K Classic games at Madison Square Garden in November, as well.
