A parking lot at the corner of Marshall Street and South Crouse Avenue will be closed as preparation of the construction of the National Veterans Resource Complex.

A parking lot at the corner of Marshall Street and South Crouse Avenue will close beginning Monday as part of the construction of the National Veterans Resource Complex, Syracuse University has announced.

The parking lot will shut down to facilitate demolition work on the Hoople Building, which is expected to be done by January 2017, according to an SU News release.

Drivers can use an alternative parking lot on East Adams Street between First Niagara Bank and University College, according to the release. Metered parking on streets also remains available.

In 2015, SU proposed the creation of the NVRC, which will be built on the western portion of Waverly Avenue. The complex is tentatively scheduled to be completed by spring 2019.
