Syracuse enters the 2016-17 season after having its most successful year in program history in 2015-16, which included SU's first-ever national championship game appearance.

Syracuse will play in the Gulf Coast Showcase in November, SU Athletics announced Friday afternoon. The three-day tournament will be played at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida. Five of the tournament’s eight teams played in the 2016 NCAA tournament.

SU will play last year’s Atlantic-10 champion George Washington on Nov. 25. Then the Orange will play either Florida Gulf Coast or Ohio State. On Nov. 27, Syracuse will play Baylor, DePaul, Kent State or Western Kentucky to round out the tournament. Three days later, the Orange will host Michigan State as part of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

In its early-season tournament a year ago, SU beat Washington and Fordham at the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas. The Orange went on to reach its first national championship game in program history, posting a 30-8 overall record.
