Defensive end De’Jon Wilson transfers to Syracuse football from Colorado

De’Jon Wislon, a defensive end from Colorado, will transfer to Syracuse for this upcoming season, he announced via Twitter.

Since Wilson is a graduate transfer, he’s eligible to play right away and has one year of eligibility left.

Wilson redshirted his freshman season in 2012 and then played in 11 games in each of the next two seasons. He had 19 tackles combined over those two seasons. Last year, his redshirt junior season, he didn’t appear in a single game.

The Orange are thin at defensive line after losing contributors from last season like Ron Thompson, Donnie Simmons and Luke Arciniega. Jake Pickard and Kenneth Ruff were starters during the spring, but neither has played in a collegiate game. On top of that, SU and defensive-end graduate transfer Gabe Sherrod parted ways on Saturday night, according to Scout.com
