Tim Barber was injured during Sunday's game against Albany and Nick Piroli was declared "week-to-week."

Syracuse starting attack Nick Piroli, who missed No. 5 Syracuse’s 16-7 win over No. 12 Albany on Sunday, is “week-to-week,” head coach John Desko said, with a lower-body injury. Tim Barber, another starter, left the game after the first half, but Desko expects him to be back “pretty quick.”

“Nick is out momentarily,” Desko said. “I’m not sure when he’s going to come back. We expect him back this season.”

Barber was knocked to the ground jostling for a ground ball at the end of the first half. As the teams jogged off the field, he remained lying on the turf as trainers came to his aid. He eventually walked off on his own power with trainers at his side. The midfielder was starting at attack in place of Piroli.

“We’ll see after we talk to the doctors tonight,” Desko said of Barber’s status. “I’m sure it’s a matter of when we’re getting him back. Whether it’s the next game or not, I’m not sure yet.”

After Barber went down, Devin Shewell replaced him at attack. Shewell finished the game with two goals.
