SU student stabbed, robbed in Park Point apartment

Police responded after an SU student in Park Point was stabbed in her room around 6:10 a.m. Monday by an unknown man after she woke up and he was there.

A Syracuse University student was stabbed and is in stable condition after her Park Point apartment room was broken into by an unknown man, police said.

The stabbing happened around 6:10 a.m. Monday at 417 Comstock Ave. after the SU student woke up to find a man, who had entered through an unlocked window, wearing a red sweatshirt in her room. A struggle ensued in which the student was stabbed with a knife in the upper back, according to releases from the Syracuse Police Department and the Department of Public Safety.

The suspect then left the room, stealing a wallet on his way out. He was last seen running toward Thornden Park, according to DPS.

The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital by Syracuse University Ambulance to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release. She remains in stable condition.
