Here is a round-up of criminal activity that happened near campus this week, according to police bulletins:

DWI

A Syracuse woman, 60, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired and failure to signal, according to a police bulletin.

When: Friday at 3:04 a.m.
Where: 700 block of E. Colvin St.



Harassment

A Syracuse man, 35, who lives on the 900 block of Lancaster Ave., was arrested and charged with harassment in the second degree and criminal contempt in the first degree, according to a police bulletin.

When: Wednesday at 2:50 p.m.
Where: 500 block of S. State St.

Open container

A Syracuse man, 40, was ticketed on the charge of possession of an open container, according to a police bulletin.

When: Sunday, Nov. 29 at 10:05 a.m.
Where: 700 block of S. Crouse Ave.

Shooting

A man died from a gunshot wound to the chest that was discovered after the man crashed his car into a Syracuse police officer’s, police said.

Around 2:40 a.m. Sunday, a Syracuse police officer was responding to a shots fired incident on the 100 block of Smith Lane when, near the intersection of East Colvin Street and Robert Drive — about two blocks away from Comstock Avenue near the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center — the officer’s patrol car was hit by another vehicle, according to a Syracuse Police Department release.

The police officer checked on the other driver and determined the driver had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. The 22-year-old victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he died, according to the release.

Police are investigating where exactly the shooting took place, according to the release.
