A student and a Connective Corridor bus collided around 4 p.m. Tuesday on College Place.

The accident shut down the road, which services the majority of buses that pass through the Syracuse University campus, for about 20 minutes. The student, who was riding a yellow bike, hit the side of a Centro bus, police said, and emergency crews were called to the scene around 3:59 p.m., according to the police scanner.

The female student was conscious and responding to emergency personnel. She did have a bloody nose and was put into an ambulance on a stretcher.

After the ambulance had left the scene, police and Centro employees examined the right side of the bus. The back right door of the bus was dented.

Hannah Warren, public information officer for the Department of Public Safety, said she was unaware where the student was taken for medical attention.
