Snoop Dogg’s concert at New York State Fair canceled; Nas to perform instead

UPDATED: Sept. 1, 2015 at 9:29 p.m.

Snoop Dogg will no longer be performing at the New York State Fair on Wednesday, but rapper Nas will perform in his place, Syracuse.com reported Tuesday night.

The Snoop concert was canceled due to an illness, according to Syracuse.com. The Nas concert will be at 8 p.m. at Chevy Court at the Fair.

Snoop Dogg has been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards, but hasn’t won one. Hewas named Artist of the Year by Source Awards in 1994 and has sold more than 30million albums worldwide during his career.

Nas was ranked fifth on MTV’s list of “The Greatest MCs of All Time.” The Brooklyn-born rapper has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards but, like Snoop, has never taken one home.

Meghan Trainor’s Thursday gig at Chevy Court was also canceled following Trainor’s announcement two weeks ago that she canceled her tour. The singer was replaced by pop acts Jason Derulo and Echosmith at Chevy Court.
