Ervin Philips won't return against Rhode Island after suffering a lower-body injury in the first half. He caught two touchdowns from quarterback Eric Dungey.

Sophomore hybrid Ervin Philips suffered a lower-body injury in the first half against Rhode Island and won’t return, SU Athletics announced in a tweet.

Philips had two receptions for 41 yards and two touchdowns in the first half.

Both times he connected with freshman quarterback Eric Dungey, who replaced Terrel Hunt after the senior left the game with an injury in the first quarter.
