Syracuse football recruiting: TE Jay Rose lists Orange in top 4

Class of 2016 tight end Jay Rose included Syracuse among his top four college choices on Monday, according to the New Haven Register.

Rose also included Wisconsin, Wake Forest and UConn in his top four and plans to make a decision in the next two to three weeks, per the report.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Southington (Connecticut) High School product is ranked as the 57th-best tight end in the 2016 class by 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. Rose also has offers from North Carolina State, Boston College and West Virginia according to Scout.com.

The Orange’s 2016 class currently has 15 members, including 2015 holdover Brandon Ginnetti, but none are tight ends. SU’s current roster has seven tight ends: senior Jacob Green, juniors Cameron MacPherson, Josh Parris and Kendall Moore and sophomores Tyler Provo, PJ Batten and Trey Dunkelberger.
