Student reports being forcibly touched on Walnut Avenue

A Syracuse University student has reported that she was forcibly touched around 2 a.m. Sunday morning on the 800 block of Walnut Avenue.

The student reported that she was walking alone behind her off-campus housing on Walnut Avenue when a male approached her from behind and “forcibly” grabbed her butt and private area, according to the Department of Public Safety.

The suspect fled on foot after the incident and was last seen going north on Walnut away from the SU campus.

The student did not sustain any injuries, according to DPS.

The suspect was identified as being about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a heavy build, light brown hair in his late teens.

The public safety notice sent out by DPS was the first of the fall semester.
