Class of 2016 Mays (Georgia) High School cornerback Monquavion Brinson has verbally committed to Syracuse, he announced via Twitter on Monday night. Mike McAllister of Scout.com reported the news before the announcement.

Brinson is rated with three stars and as the 57th corner in the country by 247Sports.com’s composite rankings and is listed at 5 feet 11 inches and 167 pounds. He had offers from Mississippi State, Louisville, Indiana, Kentucky and 11 other schools, according to 247Sports.

Brinson is the third member of the class from Georgia, joining Will Harper and Darius Stubbs. He’s also the second cornerback in the class behind Stubbs according to Scout, though Syracuse.com has reported Stubbs will play the hybrid position.

The Orange currently has six corners on its rosters including two seniors. Junior Wayne Morgan, sophomore Corey Winfield, redshirt freshman Juwan Dowels and redshirt freshman Cordell Hudson will have overlapping eligibility with Brinson.
