Syracuse, which won an NCAA tournament game for the second straight season, will play in international competition this summer.

The 2015-16 Syracuse women’s basketball team will compete in an international tour through eastern Europe, SU Athletics announced in a release on Friday morning.

“An international tour is a great experience for our student-athletes to travel the world and compete against high-level competition,” head coach Quentin Hillsman said in the release. “It’s also an amazing cultural experience and time of bonding between players and coaches that will be a springboard to our 2015-16 season.”

The team will visit Vienna, Austria; Prague, Czech Republic; and Bratislava, Slovakia. SU hasn’t traveled abroad since 2008 when the Orange went to France and Switzerland.

“We’re all really excited for the foreign tour,” junior guard Alexis Peterson said in the release. “It’s really beneficial and a great opportunity. We have a great chance to do something that a lot of teams do not have the opportunity to do. It’s going to be a great experience with a great group of girls.”
