Sergio Salcido misses Marist game with ‘upper-body injury’, return date unclear

Sergio Salcido missed Syracuse’s 20-8 win over Marist on Sunday with an upper-body injury, according to SU Athletics.

“We’ll find out more this week whether he can play next week or not,” Orange head coach John Desko said.

When asked what the injury was, Desko paused, looked at SU athletics communications representative Mike Morrison and asked him, “What would we call that kind of extremity?”

Salcido was seen before the game in dress clothes with his right hand taped up.

The second-line midfielder has recorded five assists and six ground balls in 2015 and has no goals in 12 shot attempts.
