Residence Hall Association endorses Aysha Seedat and Jane Hong

The Residence Hall Association is excited to announce our endorsement of Aysha Seedat and Jane Hong for presidential and vice presidential candidates of the Student Association 59th Session. Their combined experience working to improve student life makes us confident that Seedat and Hong are the most equipped individuals to lead our university.

The Residence Hall Association strives to create an all inclusive and positive experience for students. We do this through a variety of educational, social and collaborative programming designed to prepare students for Syracuse University life. Just recently, the Syracuse RHA was named School of the Year at Northeastern Association of College and University Residence Halls Minis Conference 2015 at Endicott College. This prestigious award demonstrates that we take enormous pride in our organization’s achievements here on campus and in the recognition from our peers in NEACURH, and as such, we do not give out this endorsement lightly.

Seedat has shown her commitment to helping students time and again through her work as the Director of Student Life in the Student Association. Hong is currently an RA in the Sheraton, working with students on a day-by-day basis to ensure that their Syracuse experience is a great one. Furthermore, their platform focuses on the two pillars of support and safety. Seedat and Hong will focus on specific initiatives, including creating proactive methods to combat sexual assault and increase the number and promotion of opportunities in which students can sit down with the administration and work together to discuss potential changes to campus.

The Residence Hall Association encourages students to go online and learn more about Seedat and Hong’s campaign objectives, and to reach out to them if you have any questions.

We wish Seedat and Hong the best of luck in the upcoming elections.
