Defensive tackle Clark becomes 24th verbal commit in Class of 2015

Two-star defensive tackle Steven Clark has verbally committed to Syracuse’s Class of 2015, he announced at Brindlee Mountain (Alabama) High School on Thursday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound prospect had 15 offers, but ended up choosing the Orange over South Alabama. Clark had been verbally committed to USA since late June, but retracted his verbal on Nov. 16, two days after SU offered.

Clark joins a roster with three returning defensive tackles, freshman Jalen Harvey, junior Marcus Coleman and redshirt junior Ryan Sloan. Clark is also the first member of SU’s current class to hail from Alabama.

He becomes the 24th verbal commit for the Orange, and fourth in less than three weeks.
