Defensive end Davis becomes 1st Syracuse Class of 2015 verbal commit since Aug. 25

Three-star defensive end Keivonnis Davis verbally committed to Syracuse’s Class of 2015 on Thursday, CuseNation.com. reported.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Miami Central (Florida) High School senior is the first Syracuse commit since Aug. 25. Since then, three verbal commits have left the class. Davis chose the Orange over offers from West Virginia, South Florida, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, among others, according to Scout.com.

Davis is the third defensive end to commit to the Class of 2015, along with Brandon Ginnetti and Dana Levine, who are also rated as three-star recruits by Scout.

Davis was also recruited by SU wide receivers coach George McDonald, who was demoted from offensive coordinator in early October. Davis is the sixth player in SU’s incoming recruiting class from Florida and the 22nd verbal commit overall.
