Beat writers predict Syracuse to lose in season finale

BC-ya!
On the bright side, a healthy offensive line provides a more accurate way to evaluate Syracuse’s young group of quarterbacks. But Boston College is a bowl-eligible team for a reason and won’t hold any punches as it looks to sharpen up its bowl-game resume, and the Orange’s downward spiral doesn’t stop until the final buzzer. Expect SU head coach Scott Shafer’s postgame press conference to have more firepower than Syracuse’s offense has shown in quite some time.

Chestnut thrill
Syracuse and Boston College don’t quite lull us to sleep, but they collectively put the Orange’s season to rest on an underwhelming note. What has been talked about as an extended look at the team’s young talent for the last two weeks, SU gets a chance to do just that, and it’s pleased with what it sees from its young quarterbacking core. AJ Long said before the Pittsburgh game that he doesn’t feel like he’s created much competition with Terrel Hunt just yet, and he backs that up as one running back scores the unit’s first touchdown since opening night.

Ca-caww!
If Syracuse makes anything of its season finale it’ll be out of raw pride, not much else. But really there’s not enough rest or reason to believe this game serves as anything than the Eagles circling the carcass of SU’s season.
