ACC announces tournament schedule; Syracuse to play Duke at 5 p.m. in semifinals Friday

Following Maryland’s defeat of Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon, the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament’s seeding and schedule have been finalized.

On Friday, Syracuse (8-3, 2-3 ACC), the third seed, will play second-seeded Duke at 5 p.m. at PPL Park in Chester, Pa., just outside of Philadelphia. The Orange traveled to Duke for a March 23 rematch of last year’s national championship, but was embarrassed 21-7 by the Blue Devils.

In the other ACC tournament semifinals matchup on Friday, the Terrapins and Fighting Irish will square off at 7:30 p.m. in a rematch of Saturday’s game.

Virginia and North Carolina, the conference’s fifth- and sixth-ranked teams, will play Saturday at 7:30 in the consolation ACC Showcase. The ACC championship game’s opening faceoff will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday April 27.
