Senior center Baye Moussa Keita will make his first start of the season for Syracuse against Boston College on Monday due to an “apparent miscommunication” between the team and the official scorekeepers, SU Athletics spokesman Pete Moore said.

With sophomore center DaJuan Coleman still nursing a left leg contusion, Moore said Jerami Grant was expected to make his fifth straight start. However, the scorekeepers had Keita listed as a starter close to game time, so he had to start. In more than 30 years of work in the sports communications industry, Moore said he’s never seen this happen.

Keita started 10 games as a freshman in 2010-11, but he has not started in the last two seasons.
