Boston Celtics waive former Syracuse forward Joseph

Former Syracuse forward Kris Joseph was waived by the Boston Celtics on Monday, the team announced. The Celtics had reacquired Joseph on Friday through a trade with the Brooklyn Nets prior to waiving the forward.

Boston originally selected the 6-foot-7 forward in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft. Joseph split time this past season with the Celtics and the Nets, totaling 54 minutes in 10 games. He scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Joseph also played for the Springfield Armor and the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League. He averaged 18.6 points and 4.6 rebounds through 27 games, which earned him second-team All-NBA Development League honors.

In his Orange career from 2008-12, Joseph scored 10.5 points per game and recorded 4.5 boards per game. He  led SU in scoring during his senior season, in which he earned first-team All-Big East honors.
