Wide receiver commit Cooper deemed academically ineligible for 2013 season

Three-star wide receiver Corey Cooper did not meet academic qualifications to attend Syracuse this fall, he told The Post-Standard in a text message Thursday.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Cooper was the highest-rated of four receivers in the Class of 2013, according to Scout.com. A phone call to Millbrook High School (Raleigh, N.C.) was not immediately returned.

Cooper will attend prep school this fall, according to The Post-Standard.
