SU breaks into top 25 for first time in more than 2 years

The SU women’s basketball team is ranked No. 24 in the country now in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.

The Orange (18-3, 6-2 Big East) is off to its best start in program history and received votes for the top 25 for the past 10 weeks. SU cracked the USA Today Coaches Poll Jan. 15 at No. 23 and is now No. 24 in that poll.

Coming off two Big East wins, SU visits conference winless Cincinnati Tuesday to defend its new ranking. SU’s highest ever ranking was No. 21 in the Feb. 11 2008 AP poll. That Orange team was the last to make the NCAA tournament.
