Daniello home; SU future remains uncertain

Mike Daniello is home in Cross River, N.Y. after suffering suffering a serious head injury.

Head coach John Desko has spoken with the attack and his family, but Daniello has not returned to Syracuse and Assistant Director of Athletic Communications Mike Morrison said Daniello’s status is still uncertain.

Daniello played his freshman season at Johns Hopkins last year before transferring to SU in the offseason. Mike’s older brother Chris played for the Orange from 2007-2010, making Big East Attack Player of the Year and third-team All-American his senior year.

“He’s home doing much better,” Desko said. “We’re waiting to see how much better he gets because the semester is starting on Monday, so we’ll see. I’ve spoken with the family and I’ve spoken with him – I’ve spoken with his family a number of times – and wish him the best and hope for a speedy recovery there.”
