ESPN to feature Syracuse’s Midnight Madness in October

Syracuse’s Midnight Madness will be featured live on ESPN3 on Friday, Oct. 12, along with highlights and analysis coming on ESPNU, according to an ESPN press release Monday.

The event that celebrates the start of the men’s and women’s basketball seasons has included scrimmages and dunk contests in the past. The Orange is coming off a 34-3 season in which it fell to Ohio State in the Elite Eight. SU must replace four key contributors from last season, including starting point guard Scoop Jardine, small forward Kris Joseph, center Fab Melo and sixth man Dion Waiters.

The team will play two exhibition games before opening its season against San Diego State in the Battle on the Midway game in San Diego on Friday, Nov. 9.
